What is SVP?
The Skill Verification Programme checks that Indian workers have the skills their job in Saudi Arabia needs. It is run in India by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) with Takamol, a Saudi partner, under an agreement signed in 2019.
How the test works
The exam has a theory part and a practical part, taken at an accredited testing centre in India. NSDC reports 41 accredited centres and more than 82,000 candidates assessed.
Does my trade need it?
Requirements depend on the occupation on your visa. Your recruiter confirms whether your job needs the SVP test before your visa is processed.
Practise the core tasks of your trade before the test, and carry your ID and any certificates on the day.
